Field service software pricing in 2026

By Sam Wexler, independent analyst · Pricing verified

I don’t run a trade. I build software and analyse pricing. Every figure below was read from the vendor’s own page on the date shown, and I flag any number that is an estimate rather than a stated one.

Some links here will become affiliate links once those programs are approved, and would then earn a commission if you subscribe, at no cost to you. That never changes the numbers. Where a program isn’t live, links go to the vendor’s own pricing page.

Five tools come up when a trade contractor compares field service software. Only two of them will tell you the price without a sales call. Below is every number Jobber and Housecall Pro publish, sourced and dated, then the three that quote-gate, and finally what the published price still leaves off your real bill.

Pricing in this category is built to be hard to compare. Plans bundle different features, a per-seat fee sits below the headline number, card rates vary, and three of the five make you request a quote. This page pins down what can be pinned down: the published figures, dated, with the two estimates flagged.

Jobber pricing

Jobber published plans
PlanAnnual /moMonthly /moIncluded users
Core$29$491
Connect$99$1391
Grow$149$1991

Prices are per plan with one user included; each extra user is $29/mo, and card payments run 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction (source, verified 26 Aug 2026). Core also shows a $21/mo intro rate for the first 12 months, so budget the ongoing $29, not the promo.

Housecall Pro pricing

Housecall Pro published plans
PlanAnnual /moMonthly /moIncluded users
Basic$59$791
Essentials$149$1895
Max$299$3298

Housecall Pro’s per-seat fee is tier-dependent (about $100 on Essentials, $75 on Max) and its card rate is stated as “as low as 2.59%”, a floor rather than a fixed rate (source, verified 26 Aug 2026). Both are estimates until confirmed, so we flag them wherever they feed a total.

The annual discount is real money

Every published plan is cheaper on annual billing, and the gap is wider than most contractors expect. On Jobber, Core drops from $49 to $29 a month on annual billing, a 41% saving; Connect and Grow save 29% and 25%. On Housecall Pro the annual discount runs from 25% on Basic down to 9% on Max. Across both vendors, committing to a year rather than paying month to month saves between 9% and 41% depending on the plan (source, verified 26 Aug 2026). The trade-off is the commitment: an annual plan is harder to walk away from if the tool does not fit, which is the lock-in worth weighing before you sign.

Card processing, compared

The two published vendors also price card processing differently, and it matters more than the gap in subscription. Jobber charges 2.9% + $0.30 per card transaction. Housecall Pro advertises “as low as 2.59%”, a floor that depends on your plan and volume rather than a fixed rate (source, verified 26 Aug 2026). On a month of heavy card payments, that fraction of a percentage point can swing the total by more than the difference in base price. It is the single reason the cheapest sticker is not always the cheapest tool, and the reason a flat price comparison misleads.

The three that quote-gate

The other three route you to a demo instead of a number. That opacity is a cost in itself: you cannot compare them against a published price, or against each other, without booking a call and handing over your details.

  • ServiceTitan (Starter / Essentials / The Works)

All three packages show "Request Pricing" behind a demo form (industry, number of techs, job type). Per-technician pricing, enterprise-oriented ("trusted by over 100,000 contractors"). No public figure. (source, verified 27 Aug 2026)

  • Workiz (Standard / Pro / Ultimate)

Standard, Pro and Ultimate all show "Request pricing". The only public number anywhere on the page is an FAQ claim of "save $400+" on annual billing. No per-seat price. (source, verified 27 Aug 2026)

  • FieldPulse (Essentials / Professional / Enterprise)

Seat-based (full-access vs field-only seats); every package shows "Request Pricing" / book a demo. Its own FAQ warns that pricing listed on third-party review sites may be inaccurate. No public figure. (source, verified 27 Aug 2026)

If you book one of those demos, go in with the numbers that decide the bill and make the rep put them in writing: the per-seat price at your exact headcount, the card-processing rate and per-transaction fee, any one-time onboarding charge, and the contract length. Ask for the ongoing price, not a first-year promo, and ask what it was a year ago. A quote that leaves those blank is not a price, it is the start of a negotiation.

What the published price leaves out

A published tier is a floor, not a bill. Three things sit on top of it: a per-seat fee for every crew member above the plan’s included users, a card and online payment fee of roughly 2.6 to 2.9% plus a per-transaction charge, and any post-signup price creep as an intro rate lapses. On large tickets the card fee can outweigh the subscription, which is why the cheapest sticker is not always the cheapest tool.

The interactive way to see it is the calculator, which adds those layers for your crew size and card volume and shows where one tool becomes cheaper than another. See the full true-cost breakdown for HVAC or plumbing, or run your own numbers on the home page.

Which price matters for you

There is no single cheapest tool, because the cheapest depends on your crew and your card volume. If you are a solo operator watching the base price, Jobber’s $29/mo Core is the lowest published number. If you take a lot of card payments, Housecall Pro’s lower processing rate can beat it on the total even though its base costs more. And if you want any price at all before a sales call, the two that publish are your only option today.

The useful question is never which tool is cheapest in the abstract, but which is cheapest for your crew size and how much you run through the card reader each month. Those two numbers move the answer more than any feature list, and they are exactly what the calculator solves for.

Common pricing questions

Which field service software publishes its pricing?
As of 27 August 2026, only Jobber and Housecall Pro publish per-seat prices on their own sites. Workiz, FieldPulse and ServiceTitan all route you to a demo and quote instead of listing a number.
How much does Jobber cost?
Jobber lists Core at $29/mo, Connect at $99/mo and Grow at $149/mo on annual billing, each including one user, plus $29 per extra user, plus card processing at 2.9% and $0.30 per transaction (getjobber.com/pricing, verified 26 August 2026). Monthly billing is higher: $49, $139 and $199 respectively.
How much does Housecall Pro cost?
Housecall Pro lists Basic at $59/mo (one user), Essentials at $149/mo (five users) and Max at $299/mo (eight users) on annual billing (housecallpro.com/pricing, verified 26 August 2026). Its per-seat fee and its “as low as 2.59%” card rate are stated as ranges rather than fixed numbers, so treat those two as estimates.
Why won’t some vendors show a price?
Workiz, FieldPulse and ServiceTitan use quote-based, per-seat or per-technician pricing customised per business, so they route you to a sales demo instead of publishing a number. The practical effect is that you cannot compare them against a published price without first booking a call.
